Construction on the Wolong Baotou Permanent Magnet Motor Industrial Park officially commenced in the city of Baotou on May 20.

Wolong Group is a leading enterprise in the motor industry and the largest manufacturer of permanent magnet motors in China. Wolong Electric Drive (Baotou) Permanent Magnet Motor Co was also established on April 16 in Baotou as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wolong.

The Wolong Baotou Permanent Magnet Motor Industrial Park project is located in the Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone and is a key investment project by Wolong Group, which plans to establish its headquarters in North China.

The park is expected to have an annual production capacity of 52,000 new energy vehicle motors, 32,000 low-speed high-power permanent magnet motors, 1,300 wind turbines, 20,000 tons of castings, and 100 megawatt-hours of energy storage system integration.

It will also promote the clustering of the permanent magnet motor industry in Baotou.
