Explosive start to 30th Baotou Science Popularization Week
The 30th Baotou Science Popularization Week officially commenced at the Baotou Rare Earth Research Institute on May 25, with events scheduled to last for a week.
This event aims to accelerate the improvement of public scientific literacy and innovation awareness and create a positive social atmosphere that respects talent and science.
At the opening ceremony of the event, appointment letters were awarded to the city's newly selected science and technology commissioners, and grants were given to corporate representatives and individuals who made significant contributions to the city's technological achievements and application.
During the opening ceremony, new technologies such as fire-fighting drones were demonstrated, and interactive science experiences and free medical consultations were offered.
Following the ceremony, attendees toured the Baotou Rare Earth Museum to gain a comprehensive understanding of the discovery and application of rare earth elements, the formation and distribution of rare earth mines, the rare earth processing flow, technological research and development, and the accomplishments of China's rare earth industry over the past 70 years.
During the event, Baotou will host a series of activities, including the "Youth Meteorological Science Knowledge Contest", the "Baotou Public Security Science Popularization Contest", and the "Sci-tech Innovation and Scientist Spirit Exhibition".
