Baotou boosts ties with Peking University Third Hospital
A delegation of 14 key department heads from Peking University Third Hospital's North Branch in the national capital Beijing recently traveled to Baotou city – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Led by Shen Ning, vice president of Peking University Third Hospital, the party conducted discussions on collaborative support with various local hospitals from May 26 to 27.
Peking University Third Hospital boasts 27 nationally recognized clinical specialties and consistently ranks in the top 1 percent in national performance evaluations for tertiary public hospitals.
The visit marked an upgrade in links between the two sides. From April 2021 to April 2023, Baotou Fourth Hospital and Peking University Third Hospital had an orthopedic specialty medical alliance.
On March 1, Wu Yan, director of the Baotou municipal health commission, led a team to the North Branch of Peking University Third Hospital to discuss deepening cooperation.
During a meeting on May 27, the heads of eight departments from the North Branch – including respiratory, orthopedics and gynecology – detailed their hospital's staff training, scientific research and information technology development.
They also provided suggestions on enhancing engagements from their perspectives.
What's more, they proposed methods to elevate Baotou's medical institutions – such as through telemedicine, remote teaching, advanced workshops and the integrated management of medical education.
Baotou hospital representatives also expressed their needs, including inviting senior physicians from Peking University Third Hospital for consultations and assistance in establishing doctoral workstations.
Addressing Baotou's urgent needs, Shen said that Peking University Third Hospital would focus on technical guidance, talent training and scientific research to support and advance the city's medical services.
