New housing incentives welcome talent to Baotou
"Preferential policies for talent in Baotou are excellent. Not long ago, I easily received a subsidy for renting a house," said Zhang Kexin, an employee of the North Rare Earth Smelting Branch (Huamei Co).
In recent years, Baotou has introduced a series of policies, such as "Some Measures to Support and Attract Young Talent to Work and Start Businesses in Baotou", aiming to attract talent and drive industrial development.
The city has launched multi-level subsidy policies to help new residents settle in Baotou. Subsidies for renting houses ranging from 320 yuan ($44) to 1,920 yuan per month are provided for talent with educational backgrounds from technical secondary school to doctoral degrees, across seven tiers. Additionally, apartments are provided free of charge for two to four years for those with technical secondary school education or higher.
Among the various talents who have applied for and been approved for housing rental subsidies, there are 137 people with doctorates, accounting for 3.5 percent; 1,491 people with master's degrees, accounting for 38 percent; 1,773 people with bachelor's degrees, accounting for 45 percent; and 169 diploma holders, accounting for 4.3 percent.
Moving forward, Baotou will continue to optimize its services to ensure new residents of the city receive subsidies for living, thereby unleashing their innovation and creativity and promoting industrial development.
