Single-day shipments at Mandula Port hit new high
A reporter learned from Baotou customs that on June 14, the number of inbound and outbound freight vehicles at Mandula port reached 813, and the import and export freight volume was 43,100 metric tons, a record high for a single day since the switch.
Since the beginning of this year, Baotou customs has maintained daily scheduling to promptly address any issues related to port clearance, ensuring smooth operations throughout the entire clearance process.
The customs authority has actively promoted the construction of new supervision sites. The number of operational supervision sites has increased from one to three, expanding the static storage capacity by 535,000 tons, and alleviating the shortage in storage capacity.
As of May 31, the total cargo volume cleared through Mandula Port reached 3.23 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 62.95 percent. Customs supervised 181,700 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) of inbound and outbound containers, an increase of 80.8 percent year-on-year, as well as 73,200 inbound and outbound transportation vehicles, an increase of 36.57 percent year-on-year.
A relevant official from Baotou customs stated that moving forward, they will continue to proactively integrate into the "Belt and Road" and "China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor" initiatives. They will also vigorously take action to enhance clearance efficiency, continuously improve measures to facilitate port clearance, and work towards increasing the cargo volume at Mandula Port to tens of millions of tons.
