Baogang Group enhances export competitiveness
Baogang Group in Baotou recently achieved mass production of H400-grade hypereutectoid high-strength wear-resistant steel rails for export. This significantly enhances the competitiveness and influence of China's heavy-duty rail products and technology in the international market.
Heavy-duty railway transportation, known for its high capacity, efficiency, and low cost, has garnered widespread attention from railway departments worldwide. In recent years, countries and regions with dense heavy-duty railways, such as China, Australia, Brazil, and the United States, have seen increased axle loads, speeds, and annual freight volumes. This has led to higher demands for rail material selection and transportation safety.
Global comparisons and applications of rail products indicate that hypereutectoid rails exhibit higher strength, hardness, and wear resistance, demonstrating excellent overall performance on heavy axle load lines and small-radius curves.
The successful mass production of high-strength wear-resistant hypereutectoid rails indicates that Baogang Group's rail R&D and production capabilities have reached world-class levels.
Additionally, to support the Belt and Road Initiative, Baogang Group supplied 22,600 metric tons of rails to the Hungary-Serbia railway project by the end of 2023.
Spanning nearly 350 kilometers, the Hungary-Serbia railway marks a milestone in Belt and Road cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries. It is also the first project to align China's railway technology and equipment with European Union railway interconnection technical standards.
