Baotou Library lessens geographical barriers

Updated: 2024-07-03

Four libraries in the cities of Baotou, Hohhot, Ulaanqab and Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region recently jointly initiated an integrated reading service system.

Each of the four will establish small branch libraries in the other libraries as well as at other locations within the respective cities.

Currently, the Baotou, Hohhot and Ulaanqab libraries have established branches within the Ordos Library.

The branches provide local literature from Baotou, Hohhot, and Ulaanqab. What's more, the four libraries have collectively created a joint local literature search platform for the libraries of Baotou, Hohhot, Ulaanqab and Ordos.

At the branch libraries in Ordos, readers can remotely search and borrow from the collections of their main libraries in Baotou, Hohhot and Ulaanqab. Additional branch libraries are being prepared, which will further enhance public cultural services among the four cities.
