The purpose of the event was to promote its investment environment and investment policies. That was with a view to attracting more business enterprises and investors to participate in the development, construction and operation of Darhan Muminggan's cultural and tourism sector.
It was announced at the conference that on July 19 the banner will host its 11th cultural tourism festival and the 34th Nadam Fair. The main venue will be located at the Bailing Nadam Cultural Industrial Park in the banner, with sub-venues at tourist attractions such as the Shihua Grassland and Xilamuren Grassland.
In recent years, the banner has successively hosted 33 Nadam Fairs, meeting the spiritual and cultural needs of locals and tourists, while promoting exchanges and integration among various ethnic groups. During the 2023 Nadam Fair, the banner received 511,000 visitors, generating tourism revenue of 230 million yuan ($31.64 million).
During this year's fair, thrilling activities such as the Village Super League horse racing series and the 2024 National Equestrian Endurance Championship will be held. There will also be a National Archery King Contest.
In addition, the banner will host car and motorcycle cross-country races, a national five-a-side soccer invitational tournament and other sports competitions.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy a very special culinary festival featuring what is known as hand-grabbed meat – where typically lamb or mutton in the region is traditionally eaten with the hands. Adding to the fun, there’ll be the 15th Bailing Cup Amateur Singers Northern Region League and other special music events, showcasing the area's stunning landscape and cultural charms.
