The Baotou Sketching and Creation Tour by a group of highly-respected Chinese oil painters is currently underway.

After completing landscape sketches in Donghe district, the team of renowned oil painters led by Yang Feiyun visited Jingtai Senior High School in Baotou for a seven-day portrait sketching and creation session.

Yang Feiyun, honorary president of the Oil Painting Academy of the Chinese National Academy of Arts and member of the China Artists Association, was born in Baotou.

Yang stated, "Baotou is building itself into a cultural hub in the new era. With events such as the 2024 China Baotou Art Fair, it's evident how much importance our hometown places on art. As an artist from Baotou, I am delighted. I hope this event will increase interest in art in Baotou."

The sketching and creation tour will continue until July 16. Following its conclusion, outstanding works produced during the event will be exhibited at the Baotou Art Museum.
