The auction of the 2024 China Baotou Art Fair was held at the Baotou International Convention and Exhibition Center in Baotou on July 13.

It has been reported that a total of 34 pieces of calligraphy, painting, and cultural creative works were auctioned during the event. Most of these exhibited works were created on-site by members of the China Artists Association and the Chinese Calligraphers Association, as well as renowned professors from various art academies.

The auction was designated as a charity event, with a starting bid of 0 yuan. The proceeds will all be used for the development of cultural and artistic undertakings in Baotou.

Before the auction, Li Liqiang, a bidder from Beijing, remarked, "I have been following the fair for the past two months. In this auction, I am particularly interested in the works of Hai Rihan and teachers from the Rong Bao Zhai Academy and hope I can acquire some of them."

During the auction, the painting Tang Poem Imagery by artist Liu Jindang was sold for 8,000 yuan ($1,101.21). Baotou resident Shi Wei successfully acquired five pieces in the auction, among which his favorites were a reproduction of a painting by Zhang Daqian and the aforementioned Tang Poem Imagery.

Shi said, "The art fair is very meaningful as it features many excellent works. I look forward to Baotou hosting more art exchanges and auctions in the future."
