Li Hailiang, deputy director of the publicity department of the CPC Baotou committee, described the event as another important milestone in building Baotou into a cultural hub following the city's first art fair from July 12 to 15. The exhibition will run until Aug 11.
During their extensive art creation process in Baotou and its surrounding areas, Professor Kang Lei from the Central Academy of Fine Arts depicted the unique local customs and natural scenery of Baotou with delicate brushwork and rich colors, creating the "Blue Grassland" series.
Speaking about her creative inspiration, Kang said, "The inspiration for this series is deeply rooted in my personal experiences of places like Wudangzhao Temple and Saikhantal Urban Grassland, which are rich in history and culture. These places not only boast picturesque landscapes but also harbor rich ethnic cultures and human sentiments."
Associate Professor Yu Ming from the Central Academy of Fine Arts added, "Baotou not only delves deeply into its local cultural resources but also promotes various cultural and artistic activities, integrating art into the daily lives of the public. This has ignited a strong passion for culture among citizens and provided a replicable cultural development path for other cities."
