Updated: 2024-07-25

This year, the Yellow River Grand Market Tourism Scenic Area was established in Wanshuiquan town, Baotou, integrating leisure, entertainment, accommodation, and dining.

This effectively vitalized the town's agricultural, tourism, and cultural resources, boosting the village's collective economy and the incomes of villagers.

Wanshuiquan town currently has over 7,500 mu (500 hectares) of arable land, mainly devoted to cultivating green onions, onions, cabbage, potatoes, and more.

This year, the town implemented a water and fertilizer integration project, equipping 4,200 mu of land with 3,100 new rolls of drip irrigation tape. This increased the yield per acre by about 750 kilograms and income by nearly 800 yuan ($112), while reducing water and fertilizer usage by 20 to 40 percent and required labor by 90 percent.

Wanshuiquan utilizes e-commerce channels to promote and sell local agricultural products. A youth live-streaming e-commerce base was recently established here, where over 270 anchors have achieved cumulative sales of more than 200,000 yuan.

In addition, the town has connected with large enterprises like Wellamb, a well-known food company. There are currently 13 large enterprises and over 1,300 small and micro enterprises in the town, which have helped 30 percent of farmers find jobs and increased the per capita income of villagers to over 50,000 yuan.
