Baotou to build fluorine industrial cluster valued at 100b yuan
The 2024 National Fluorine Resources Green Development and Innovation Conference was held in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Aug 5, with the aim of supporting the high-quality development of the fluorine materials industry.
At the conference, it was revealed that Baotou is making every effort to attract leading and supporting enterprises.
The city plans to build a complete industrial chain, starting with fluorite and hydrofluoric acid and supported by inorganic and organic fluorides, to create an industrial cluster valued at 100 billion yuan ($14 billion).
Since last year, Baotou has detailed 15 policies in the fluorine materials industry, focusing on the scientific development of fluorite resources, the promotion and application of technological innovation, and improving the business environment.
The city has increased credit support and listing subsidies for fluorine materials companies, encouraging them to participate in market-driven new energy project development.
Additionally, Baogang Group, China's largest iron and steel producer headquartered in Baotou, has established a fluorine materials division, as it seeks to further engage in the fluorine materials sector.
