Updated: 2024-08-20

The first smart recycling and sorting center in Baotou, covering an area of approximately 5,400 square meters, is now officially operational.

The center, which consists of sorting area, processing area, finished product area and temporary storage area, features modern equipment such as optical sorting machines, balers, conveyors, and forklifts.

Additionally, a dedicated hazardous waste storage room was built at the center. Once hazardous waste reaches its maximum capacity, it is transported by specialized vehicles to certified companies for safe disposal.

Currently, more than 90 percent of recyclable materials sorted by the center have been processed for market reuse, and the remaining hazardous waste and non-recyclable household waste are sent to professional disposal companies for harmless treatment. The center will effectively reduce waste by over 3,600 metric tons per year.
