Entrepreneurs from Russia, Mongolia explore markets in Baotou
Entrepreneurs and officials attending the 17th China-Russia-Mongolia Business Forum recently visited Baotou city – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – exploring new markets.
On Aug 17 they toured the chassis workshop at Beiben Trucks Group Co's final assembly plant and test-drove some new energy heavy-duty trucks – including autonomous driving tractors, hydrogen fuel cell sanitation vehicles and fully electric dump trucks.
They also visited the Mingyang North Smart Energy Research Institute and the Shuangliang Group Baotou Photovoltaic Industrial Park to look into the development and prospects of the local new energy industry.

The Mingyang North Smart Energy Research Institute was jointly established by Mingyang Smart Energy Group – a leading smart energy provider with a diverse portfolio including wind, solar, storage and hydrogen ventures – as well as by Chinese universities and the Baotou municipal government.
The institute is currently responsible for operating the Mingyang North Smart Energy Big Data Management System, the Mingyang Baotou Industrial Base for intelligent manufacturing and a comprehensive testing and inspection center for onshore large wind turbines.
It also houses a hydrogen energy research academician workstation, conducting research into key technologies for projects such as the Natural Gas Blending Hydrogen Project.
At the institute, the big data management system captured the attention of the guests. They learned that through using this system, the institute's technicians are able to monitor and maintain wind turbine units that have been put into operation nationwide.
In addition, guests learned about its innovative achievements after visiting the product display area at the Shuangliang Group Baotou Photovoltaic Industrial Park.
They also praised polysilicon reduction furnaces, carbon-zero emissions electrode boilers and green electricity-powered intelligent hydrogen production systems that were put into use at the industrial park.
