Baotou innovation competition concludes

Eight sci-tech innovation teams showcased their projects and strove for awards at the final of Baotou's third Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on Aug 21 in Hondlon district, Baotou city, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
This year's competition, launched in March, collected 105 projects from Chinese and international participants, with 30 percent of the projects led by Ph.Ds.
Ultimately, the first prize was awarded to the Integrated Solutions for R&D, Manufacturing, and Application of High-End Metal Microsphere Materials project and the Cadmium Telluride Power-Generating Glass project.
The second prize was awarded to the Spatio-Temporal Positioning and Perception Network, Terahertz High-Speed Wireless Communication Technology and System (6G), and Vision Inspection Technology and Equipment Based on Large Models projects.
The third prize winners were the AI Non-Destructive Surface Defect Detection System Development and Industrialization, Key Manufacturing Technology and Industrialization of Thermal Control Products, and Electronic Control of E-Ink Screens projects.
Hondlon district also held an investment promotion forum on the same day, where senior executives of seven companies from Zhejiang, Guangdong, Sichuan, and Hebei provinces discussed potential collaborations.
At the forum, Hondlon district also held signing ceremonies to implement 12 projects that participated in the competition.
Since the competition's inception in 2021, Baotou has gathered 209 high-tech and strategic emerging industry projects and signed agreements with 21 of them. This competition has become a key platform for Baotou to attract talent and expand cooperation.
