The Baotou science and technology bureau has enhanced its system for science and technology commissioners. The city is currently home to 763 commissioners, lending their talents to aid in the sci-tech affairs of all counties while offering assistance to industrial enterprises above a designated size and companies in key industries.

The work done by the commissioners is integrated with the cultivation of innovation entities. To date, 34 sci-tech training sessions have been held for high-tech enterprises and small and medium-sized technology enterprises, benefiting over 700 companies.

A total of 359 companies in Baotou have received various technological services, such as policy consultation, patent exploration, platform application, and technology transfer, through the resources provided by the commissioners.

Notably, the Jiuyuan Innovation Center of the State Key Laboratory of Fine Chemicals has deepened its cooperation with Huadian Inner Mongolia Energy Co. The two sides have successfully implemented the Industrial Waste Heat High-Salinity Wastewater Treatment Technology project.

In addition, commissioners have helped companies expand their cooperation channels by holding seven sci-tech achievement release conferences across various industries, including healthcare and intelligent thermal manufacturing materials.

At these release conferences, 89 sci-tech achievements were announced by participating Baotou companies, such as the development of a humidified breathing mask and research on the strengthening and toughening of new metal materials and their performance under extreme conditions. Agreements were signed to implement three of these achievements.
