The 2024 China New Energy Storage Industry Development Conference is being held on Sept 23 in the city of Baotou – located in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

With its theme of "Innovation-Driven, Green Energy for the Future," the event aims to explore new technologies, business models and solutions in the energy storage sector – fostering deep collaboration across the industry and accelerating its high-quality development.

The initiative is said to support Baotou's goal of becoming the China Energy Storage City, with a global influence.

Hosted by the Inner Mongolia Energy Bureau and Inner Mongolia Energy Group, the event has attracted over 120 leading companies and industry experts, including 20 academicians and specialists.

Attendees are engaging in discussions on the latest global trends, policies and cutting-edge technologies in energy storage – such as long-duration flow batteries, compressed air energy storage and hydrogen storage.

Meanwhile, the unveiling of the Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology-Baotou New Energy Storage Research Center on the day is said to have also highlighted the city's commitment to innovation.
