Baotou leads charge in development of energy storage industry
Baotou has become a key hub for China's energy storage industry. At the end of 2023, Mingyang Group successfully unveiled its first 5MWH grid-forming energy storage system, alongside advanced control systems, filling both regional and national technological gaps and providing a major boost to China's new energy sector.

AVIC Energy Storage officially launched its BESS 2.0 liquid-cooled lithium battery storage product on April 26. Meanwhile, construction is in full swing at the second phase of AVIC's lithium battery manufacturing project in Baotou's Jinshan Industrial Park, bringing a new wave of momentum to industrial development.
Baotou's government has played a crucial role in fostering this growth. Through strategic policies and incentives, it has attracted leading companies to invest in the city. According to Qin Yufeng, general manager of Mingyang Group, Baotou’s superior business environment and supportive services have given companies confidence in their long-term success.
Currently, Baotou's energy storage industry focuses on lithium batteries, while also developing flow batteries. With a comprehensive supply chain in place, the city is steadily becoming a national leader in energy storage.
Moving forward, the city aims to establish itself as "China's Energy Storage Capital", creating a robust industrial chain that spans upstream materials, midstream manufacturing, and downstream applications.
