Baotou Half Marathon: Celebration of speed, scenic beauty

The third leg of the Baotou Half Marathon kicked off at the stunning Nanhai Scenic Area in Baotou, on Sept 22, attracting nearly 8,000 participants from China, the United Kingdom, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Ireland.
This year's event featured a half marathon, health run, and fun run, all starting and finishing at the Nanhai Scenic Area.
The course passed through Donghe Scenic Area and Beiliang New Area, showcasing the natural beauty of Donghe district. Runners traversed what felt like a living landscape painting, immersing themselves in the region's breathtaking scenery.
After fierce competition, Chinese athletes dominated in the men's half marathon, securing the top three spots. Cui Wenkai claimed the title with a time of 1 hr 9 min 4 sec, followed by Li Weiguo at 1:10:28 and Li Zhanshan at 1:16:6.
In the women's half marathon, Chinese runners also excelled, taking the top three places. Zhou Yuhan won the championship with a time of 1:22:38, while Kang Ruifeng and Chang Haiyan followed closely with times of 1:28:12 and 1:29:51, respectively.
