Coal deliveries ease chill across Baotou and Ordos

Updated: 2024-12-12

CHN Energy Baotou Coal Chemical Co's Shenshan Open-Pit Mine has moved swiftly to guarantee coal supply for urban heating and rural communities across Baotou and neighboring areas as winter settles in. This marks the fourth consecutive year the mine has supported local farmers and herders with coal for winter heating, reinforcing its commitment to public welfare.

Since 2021, the mine has supplied over 230,000 metric tons of coal – 130,000 tons to Baotou and 100,000 tons to Ordos' Dongsheng district. This year, it plans to deliver around 150,000 tons to Baotou's Kundulun district, Guyang county, Tumd Right Banner, and Dongsheng district.

To meet growing demand while improving efficiency, the mine has introduced innovative approaches to its operations. These include service optimization, quality enhancements, and safer, more efficient transportation systems, all of which ensure supply stability and coal quality.

On Oct 15, the first batch of coal, weighing 191 tons, was delivered to Guyang county, launching this year's supply mission. By mid-December, 37,000 tons had reached households, bringing relief to communities facing the biting cold.

Beyond supplying energy, Shenshan Open-Pit Mine is also charting a path toward sustainable development. By embracing green mining practices and prioritizing environmental protection alongside economic growth, it is turning its coal supply efforts into a model of warmth and responsibility for northern China's winter season.
