Jiuyuan district's hospital named new national cardiovascular screening site

Updated: 2024-12-16

The Jiuyuan District Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital has recently been designated as a new site for China's early screening and comprehensive intervention program targeting high-risk cardiovascular groups.

The approval followed an on-site evaluation carried out by the Baotou center for disease control and prevention. During the assessment, experts examined the hospital's key departments –including cardiology, ultrasound, laboratory, and ECG – assessing infrastructure, staffing, digital capabilities, and operational readiness.

Following extensive discussions with hospital staff members, the team confirmed that the hospital possesses a strong foundation and practical expertise in early screening and intervention for cardiovascular disease, qualifying it for inclusion in the national program.

This hospital is one of the earliest certified grassroots chest pain centers in China. Its cardiology department, which is spearheading this new initiative, serves as a vital part of the institution. Additionally, the hospital hosts a workstation led by Doctor Zhang Ming from Beijing Anzhen Hospital of Capital Medical University, enhancing its expertise and academic backing.

Featuring advanced technology like real-time remote ECG and blood pressure monitoring, the hospital can perform sophisticated cardiovascular procedures such as angiography, coronary stent placement, pacemaker implantation, and radiofrequency ablation for arrhythmias.
