Guyang expands job support for key groups
To address employment challenges among key groups, the human resources and social security bureau of Guyang county, Baotou, has launched a series of targeted initiatives to enhance job access and income stability for vulnerable populations.
One major strategy has involved creating public welfare positions in sanitation, landscaping, road maintenance, and labor services coordination. These roles offer income support to families lifted out of poverty, particularly those who are unable to find employment elsewhere.
By organizing online and offline job fairs, the bureau connects job seekers with suitable employers, ensuring precise job matching. As of October, 77 individuals from formerly impoverished households had been placed in nearby jobs. A total of 53 recruitment events offered 442 job opportunities, attracting 95,000 job seekers.
Efforts also extend to residents relocated through poverty alleviation programs. Among this group, 206 individuals secured employment near their new homes. Over 1,600 job postings attracted 8,000 applicants, resulting in over 5,800 job placements.
Guyang has also invested in skill development, with training centers offering specialized courses aligned with labor market needs, helping workers transition from general to skilled roles. By the end of October, 1,067 people had completed practical and entrepreneurship training, reinforcing a more inclusive and resilient workforce.
