In 2024, Baotou allocated 393 million yuan ($53.84 million) in employment support funds, benefiting 53,300 individuals. The funds were used to provide social insurance subsidies for 28,900 flexible workers and graduates, training subsidies to enhance the skills of 12,300 people, and various grants for internships, job-seeking, and public service employment.

These efforts aimed to stabilize and expand employment through targeted support for key groups, improved training, and entrepreneurial incentives. So far in 2025, the city has already secured 290 million yuan in central, regional, and municipal funding to strengthen employment services and promote the development of a high-quality workforce.
