Baotou has allocated 365.2 million yuan ($50.4 million) in special funds to support this year's spring farming preparations, demonstrating its commitment to agricultural modernization and food security. This substantial investment includes 26.89 million yuan for smart agricultural equipment subsidies, 20.7 million yuan for high-yield crop programs, and 22.8 million yuan dedicated to constructing 9,370 mu (624.67 hectares) of high-standard farmland.

Farmers such as Wu Si have benefited significantly from these initiatives, with his cooperative receiving 50 percent subsidies for advanced straw recycling equipment, improving operational efficiency by 40 percent while earning additional income through sustainable farming practices. 

These agricultural investments have proven highly effective, contributing to Baotou's remarkable achievement of 13 consecutive harvest growth years. The city plans to expand its support for farmer training programs and environmentally-friendly farming techniques, including trials of biodegradable mulch films.

"Our targeted investments are designed to ensure food security while promoting sustainable agricultural development," said an official of the Baotou municipal finance bureau. With these comprehensive measures in place, the city is well-positioned to maintain its strong agricultural performance while transitioning to more eco-friendly farming methods.
