Inner Mongolia autonomous region's Department of Industry and Information Technology recently announced the list of digital transformation demonstration benchmarks for 2024. Eight enterprises in Baotou made the list, with the highest number of selected enterprises in the entire autonomous region, accounting for 32 percent of the total.

In recent years, Baotou has increased its industrial digitalization development efforts, promoting practice and exploration in digitization innovation. To date, 18 national demonstration pilots have been cultivated.

The city has 45 AA-level certified enterprises and 12 AAA-level certified enterprises, each accounting for 33 percent of the autonomous region's total. Baotou's five enterprises with Level 3 certification for intelligent manufacturing capability maturity are the only ones in Inner Mongolia.

Through systematic digital transformation, the eight selected enterprises achieved an average reduction of 35 percent in the product research and development design cycle, 34 percent in the defect rate, 13 percent in production and operation costs, and 22 percent in overall production efficiency.

These accomplishments reflect the achievements of Baotou's industrial digital expansion work and demonstrate the latest leap of digitalization in helping enterprises forge new development capabilities.
