Over his 24-year career at Inner Mongolia Baogang Steel Pipe Co, Kao Ran has risen from an ordinary technician to the company's chief skill master, earning national recognition as a Model Worker. His technical expertise has not only transformed production processes but also set new benchmarks for the steel industry. 

Kao made his international mark in 2007 when he solved critical technical failures at the company's factory in Kazakhstan, outperforming solutions proposed by experts from Germany and Italy.

His innovative "single-roll adjustment" technique improved product precision by 30 percent, while his patented calibration methods have generated over 94 million yuan ($12.97 million) in economic benefits for the company. 

Beyond his technical achievements, Kao has established training workshops that have nurtured 58 skilled specialists. "True craftsmanship means continuous innovation and passing on knowledge," says Kao, who has received numerous honors, including the May 1 Labor Medal. His story exemplifies the spirit of Chinese manufacturing excellence in the new era.
