Inner Mongolia builds National Civilized Cities

Updated: 2025-05-27

Inner Mongolia autonomous region has achieved remarkable success in the development of civilized cities, with 14 cities now designated as National Civilized Cities – including six prefecture-level cities such as Hohhot and Baotou, and eight county-level cities. The region's systematic approach combines institutional development with grassroots participation, demonstrating significant progress in urban governance and quality of life improvements.

Key achievements include the implementation of local regulations and the establishment of over 15,000 civilization practice centers across urban and rural areas. These efforts have transformed into tangible benefits for residents, exemplified by Hohhot's community charging sheds, Ordos' complete barrier-free facility coverage, and Tongliao's network of over 70 pocket parks.

The "10 Actions for Citizen Morality" campaign has highlighted exemplary figures including "Role Model for the People" Du Guima and "National-level Master Artisan" Lu Renfeng, fostering a culture of virtue. Meanwhile, urban renewal projects have vitalized neighborhoods while maintaining high public satisfaction.

These comprehensive measures – combining policy innovation, infrastructure upgrades, and value education – demonstrate Inner Mongolia's balanced approach to sustainable urban development and cultural enrichment, serving as a model for the nationwide development of civilized cities.
