Baotou aluminum enterprise enters production
The Weko 200,000-metric-ton green and lightweight high-end aluminum-based new material deep processing project was recently completed in Baotou Aluminum Industry Park.
The project was constructed by Weko (Inner Mongolia) New Materials Technology Co with an investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($208.6 million) and took two years and two months to complete. The first phase of the project has been completed, encompassing engineering construction, equipment linkage debugging, personnel training, and system construction, which meets production conditions.
Weko's newly developed, rare-earth aluminum-based high-strength solar frame, the first of its kind in China, has demonstrated unique competitive advantages in reducing costs and enhancing performance. The 6005A alloy material produced by the company has reached the highest level of measured performance in China under air-cooled quenching conditions. The company's first automatic logistics transportation system has also been fully connected.
Once the project reaches full production, it will achieve "one-stop" deep processing from liquid aluminum to products, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of solar frames, 30,000 tons of new energy storage battery trays, and 20,000 tons of lightweight structural profiles for automobiles. This will inject strong new momentum into Baotou's construction of a billion-dollar aluminum industry cluster.
