Baotou has taken decisive actions to strengthen its employment market through a comprehensive package of support measures. Recent data shows the municipal government allocated 297 million yuan ($40.69 million) in employment subsidies during the first four months of 2025, a 6.5 percent increase over the same period last year.

For recent graduates, Baotou has expanded grassroots employment programs for community-level posts in education, agriculture, health care, and poverty relief and volunteer services, creating opportunities for 7,954 young professionals. Participants such as Liu Tianjiao, a 26-year-old community volunteer, receive monthly stipends of 3,650 yuan while gaining valuable work experience in public service roles.

The city has also prioritized support for vulnerable workers through social insurance subsidies and public welfare positions. These programs have provided critical assistance to individuals such as 47-year-old Fan Junfeng, a single mother who found stable employment through community service.

Complementing these efforts, Baotou has invested in vocational training programs focused on high-demand skills in healthcare, therapeutic massage, and IT.

To date, these initiatives have provided professional development for over 12,000 residents and generated 12,500 new urban jobs, demonstrating Baotou's commitment to developing human capital and creating sustainable career pathways across all segments of the workforce.
