Updated: 2025-06-20

The Baotou Skilled Talents Public Training Base launched on June 19, marking the opening of the country's first public training base built with foreign loans.

The base will promote industrial upgrading and talent cultivation, injecting strong momentum into the training of skilled talents through innovative models.

As the largest and most comprehensive training base in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, it covers an area of 230 mu (15.33 hectares). It features four core training areas, including areas for intelligent equipment technology and modern control technology. It features 54 professional training rooms equipped with internationally leading equipment, serving as a platform for school-enterprise cooperation and industry-education integration.

Baotou Teachers' College has also signed a cooperation agreement with leading enterprises to establish a school-enterprise-industry-education-research innovation base, matching industrial needs and clearing the channel for talent cultivation and employment.

Liu Xiaorong, deputy director of the Baotou municipal human resources and social security bureau, said that the training base is expected to conduct an average of 5,000 skill training sessions per year and train over 300 vocational college teachers.

The base will cater to the development needs of Baotou's industrial clusters, providing high-quality, skilled talent for industries such as rare earths, crystalline silicon photovoltaics, steel, and aluminum.
