Baotou readies for international youth games

Du Bojun, director of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Sports Bureau, and a delegation from Russia visited Baotou on July 1 to examine preparations for the 11th China-Russia-Mongolia International Youth Games.

The inspection included competition venues, hotels, and venues for the opening and closing ceremonies. A symposium was held after the inspection, with members of the Mongolian delegation attending online.

At the symposium, members of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Sports Bureau and the Russian delegation affirmed preparation works. Du said that he hopes Baotou will coordinate various forces and advantageous resources, further improving the details of the event, and ensuring the hosting of a simple, safe, and exciting event.

The China-Russia-Mongolia International Youth Games is an important platform for Inner Mongolia to promote sports, cultural exchanges, and cooperation with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. Launched by the three countries in 2008, the event is held annually, with each country taking turns as host. The 11th China-Russia-Mongolia International Youth Games are scheduled to take place in Baotou from Sept 22 to 28, and will feature 10 events, including track and field, wrestling, and football.

The China-Russia-Mongolia International Youth Games are significant in promoting the high-quality development of the city's economy, enhancing the city's visibility, establishing the city's international image, driving the growth of related industries, and promoting the modernization of social governance. Baotou will host the games with high quality and strive to write a new chapter in the cultural exchange of international youth sports.
