Baotou promotes 'trade-in' policy for consumer goods

Since the beginning of this year, Baotou has been implementing the "trade-in" policy for consumer goods by offering benefits, enriching supply, and innovating scenarios, stimulating the city's market vitality.

Zhang Shuxin, sales director of Tongli Home Appliances, said, "In the first half of this year, our sales revenue increased by about 20 percent year-on-year with the support of the 'trade-in' subsidy policy for home appliances."

The Baotou commerce bureau has focused on implementing the "trade-in" policy for consumer goods with high quality and efficiency. A total of 274,800 subsidy orders have generated 823 million yuan ($114.44 million), of which high-energy efficiency home appliances account for over 60 percent. The digital 3C field has emerged as a rising force, with 202,000 new purchase orders worth 155 million yuan, and sales of smart wearable devices surging by 80 percent year-on-year.

The exchange of electric bicycles is also progressing, with 5,600 orders totaling 1.56 million yuan. Home decoration and renovation are also bringing vitality, with 23,400 orders equaling 78.54 million yuan.

Jin Yongli, deputy director of the Baotou commerce bureau, said, "We will continue to make good use of the national 'trade-in' policy resources, focusing on promoting new energy vehicles to rural areas and smart homes, so that more citizens can enjoy the policy dividends."

With the promotion and implementation of various policies, the bureau will bring sustained and strong momentum to the city's consumer market.
