Baotou student wins first prize in national competition
Du Changyue, a junior high school student from Baotou No 35 Middle School Education Group, won first prize in the finals of the National Youth Space Innovation Competition for the "Drone Operation Skills Challenge" project.
Du and his team became the only project group in Baotou to win first place in the competition. Two other teams from the school won national third prizes, contributing to the school's outstanding performance in the event.

The National Youth Space Innovation Competition is a whitelist event of the Ministry of Education, and the finals of the 2025 competition attracted 4,664 participants. Baotou No 35 Middle School Education Group has won a total of 24 national-level science and technology awards in the past three years, demonstrating the educational effect of the "civilized campus + scientific and technological innovation" model.
Du's team focused on drone cluster collaboration and attack and defense strategies, inspired by the need for campus security inspections. "I hope to develop a campus drone patrol system that can automatically detect hidden dangers in facilities and serve campus safety," said Du in a post-match interview.

In recent years, Baotou No 35 Middle School Education Group has been bringing aerospace spirit into its moral education system and blending scientific and technological practice with the shaping of students' character by relying on platforms such as drone clubs and artificial intelligence programming laboratories.
Since 2022, students have completed more than 50 aerial photography tasks on campus and produced over 30 special videos, recording the details of a civilized campus from a technological perspective. Ten studios have been established on campus to improve teachers' educational abilities.
