Baotou's economy remains stable from January to July

Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region experienced a stable economy from January to July.

The industrial added value of enterprises above designated size – enterprises with annual revenue of at least 20 million yuan ($2.7 million) – grew by 11.5 percent year-on-year. Its three major industries, including crystalline silicon and photovoltaics, drove a total increase of 6.3 percentage points in the added value of industries above designated size.

The added value of Baotou's strategic emerging industries increased by 12.9 present year-on-year, with the five major emerging industries, including fluorine chemical industry, growing by 20.6 percent. 

Baotou's fixed asset investment rose by 10.4 percent year-on-year, while investment in wind power and hydrogen energy storage surged. Baotou registered 445 new projects, with allocated investments growing by 87.2 percent.

Total retail sales of consumer goods in the city reached 50.7 billion yuan, up 8 percent year-on-year. Retail sales of household appliances and audiovisual equipment grew by 77.9 present year-on-year, while automobile sales increased by 31.2 percent. Several online selection events were held, with retail sales through public networks by companies above designated size increasing by 70.3 percent year-on-year.
