Baotou launches Inner Mongolia's first comprehensive additive manufacturing demonstration line
The Inner Mongolia Metal Material Research Institute (IMMMRI) launched an advanced metal additive manufacturing demonstration line on Aug 29.
The line is the first additive manufacturing line in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region to encompass the entire process from powder-production to forming, post-processing, and testing. It features internationally leading technology, with an annual production capacity of 450 metric tons of titanium alloy powder and 3,000 additive manufacturing components.
It represents a major step forward in accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system and showcases the latest achievements in the collaboration between the China North Industries Group Corporation, the autonomous region, and Baotou to promote the development of high-end manufacturing industry.
Baotou adheres to an innovation driven strategy, continuously strengthening the advanced manufacturing industry and promoting the integration of technology and industry. The IMMMRI has achieved industrial breakthroughs in several key technologies, making significant contributions to the development of the national defense industry and boosting Baotou's technological innovation.
The 57th "Mengkeju" Additive Manufacturing Technology Achievements Briefing was held simultaneously, where experts released five industry-leading technological achievements, including dense laser array thick-layer high-efficiency laser powder bed additive manufacturing technology.
