A total of 650 key industrial projects in Baotou are advancing at full speed, covering fields such as rare earths, new materials, and high-end manufacturing, with a total investment of 532.42 billion yuan ($74.63 billion).

Compared with the same period last year, the total number of projects has increased by 22, while total investment has significantly increased, creating new momentum for the city's high-quality development.

Innovation is also becoming a key driving force behind the high-end development of these projects. With the development of a high-level innovation platform, Baotou has integrated the resources of "one institute, one university, one national key laboratory (State Key Laboratory), one laboratory and two centers" to build a collaborative, complementary and supportive scientific and technological innovation system.

The city boasts multiple national-level innovation platforms, while the number of high-tech enterprises and technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises has significantly increased. Innovation entities continue to grow, providing strong support for construction projects.

These innovative platforms are becoming incubation centers for new technologies and products. Rare earth thermal management materials have been industrialized and related textile products have been adopted by multiple enterprises. Meanwhile, the new generation of disc motors has made breakthroughs in power and integration, attracting widespread market attention.

At the same time, cooperation between industry, academia and research continues to deepen, with multiple enterprises jointly building laboratories with universities and research institutions to promote technological breakthroughs and the commercialization of research achievements. In addition, the regional innovation ecosystem is being gradually optimized.
