In 2025, the Baotou municipal finance bureau has allocated a total of 95.72 million yuan ($13.43 million) in various special funds for secondary vocational education, solving problems facing the current development of secondary vocational education and injecting strong impetus into its high-quality development.

The funds will support the upgrading and transformation of training centers that meet industrial needs, as well as the construction of virtual simulation training bases. Advanced training equipment will be purchased to promote the implementation of an integrated "teaching, learning, and practicing" educational model, allowing students to improve their practical skills in a simulated work environment and better prepare for future jobs.

The funds will be used to enhance the capabilities of vocational schools' teachers by arranging for them to participate in national and provincial professional training programs, hands-on exercises at enterprises, and more to improve their professional and practical teaching abilities and to create a teaching team that can both teach theoretical knowledge and guide practical training.

The funds will also allow the schools to participate in skill competitions and provide a platform for students to showcase what they have learned.

The funds will promote the construction of city-level industry education consortia, city-level and school-level industry education integration practice centers, as well as the construction of national and autonomous region-level information technology benchmark schools, strengthening the formation of professional groups and bolstering the city's talent cultivation and industrial development.
