Twelve projects in Baotou Rare Earth High-tech Zone were selected as part of the first batch of Baotou's rare earth industry chain digital transformation pilot projects to be supported in 2025, accounting for 70 percent of the city's total. They will receive over 13 million yuan ($1.83 million) in special funding support, accounting for 72.2 percent of the city's total amount.

The selected projects involve rare earth smelting, magnetic materials, and terminal application fields. The production end focuses on core processes such as permanent magnet materials and rare earth smelting, and efficiency can be improved through automation transformation and machine replacement. 

The management promotes real-time scheduling and precise control of production data by strengthening system integration and industrial software applications. The standard equals the industry's advanced level, setting a benchmark for the collaborative transformation of the industrial chain.

The projects' implementation will further consolidate the digital foundation of the zone's rare earth industry and provide key support for the collaborative transformation of the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain.
