From January to October, Baotou accelerated the cultivation of new quality productive forces and promoted high-quality development, boosting the city's economy.

The added value of industrial enterprises above the designated size increased by 10.8 percent year-on-year, an increase of 0.9 percentage points compared to the first three quarters. The added value of the mining industry increased by 17.8 percent year-on-year, the manufacturing industry increased by 9.9 percent, and the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas, and water rose by 8.3 percent.

The added value of the non-ferrous metal mining and beneficiation industry (including rare earths) increased by 59.4 percent, resulting in a 0.9 percentage point increase in the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size. The added value of the rare earth industry increased by 21.3 percent year-on-year, 1.6 percentage points higher than the first three quarters.

The added value of emerging industries increased by 13.4 percent year-on-year, an increase of 1.9 percentage points compared to the first three quarters. Among them, the added value of the hydrogen energy and energy storage industries increased by 158.6 percent and 56.2 percent, respectively.

The city's fixed assets investment increased 6.3 percent year-on-year. Industrial investment increased by 13.0 percent year-on-year, 4 percentage points faster than the first three quarters, leading to a total investment growth of 9.7 percentage points.

The investment in the wind power industry increased 10 percent year-on-year, driving a total investment growth of 6.7 percentage points. The investment in hydrogen energy and energy storage industries grew by 7.2 percent and 120 percent, respectively, leading to total investment growth of 3.3 percentage points.

The total retail sales of consumer goods in the city reached 76.53 billion yuan ($10.78 billion), a year-on-year increase of 7.0 percent. The total retail sales of consumer goods by units above the designated size reached 26.58 billion yuan, an increase of 12.0 percent.
