First store economy boosts consumption in Baotou
The first store economy provided a strong boost to consumption in Baotou during the New Year's Day holiday from Jan 1 to 3.
The 774 key monitored commercial enterprises in the city submitted impressive results on Jan 1, achieving a sales revenue of 87.6 million yuan ($12.55 million). Specifically, the sales of 24 shopping malls and complexes reached 31.79 million yuan, with 412,500 customers. The revenue of 210 monitored accommodation and catering enterprises was 3.95 million yuan, with 202,600 customers.

The first warehouse supermarket in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region started trial operations on Jan 1. With affordable prices and diverse products, it attracted more than 30,000 customers over the course of two days, with revenue exceeding 2 million yuan.
A representative of the supermarket said, "The trial operation exceeded expectations. The store has maintained strong customer traffic from morning to night over the past two days, and many customers came with their families. We have also adjusted the shelves and product categories based on customer feedback, striving to provide a better shopping experience for everyone."
The owner of a floral shop, which is the first of its brand in Inner Mongolia, said, "As the first store in Inner Mongolia to set up operations in Baotou, we didn't expect it to be so popular. We plan to launch more characteristic floral products to give some love back to Baotou residents."
