Inner Mongolia's young aged 12-17 get COVID-19 shots
More than 1.2 million teenagers aged between 12 and 17 years old in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region had received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines as of Aug 12, reportedly in advance of the planned deadline.
As a result, it is understood that the vaccination rate for the age group has reached 100 percent.
The COVID-19 vaccination program for those aged 12-17 years in Inner Mongolia is being carried out in two phases.
The first dose of the vaccination for young people aged 15-17 was completed by the end of July. The plan was for the first jab for those aged 12-14 to be completed before Aug 15 and it has already been completed ahead of schedule.
The second shot for teenagers aged 15-17 will be carried out in late August and the entire vaccination will reportedly be completed at the end of August.
Youngsters aged 12-14 are expected to complete the entire vaccination in September.
