Ejine Banner in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region introduced effective measures the local government has taken to ensure the health and safety of frontline anti-epidemic personnel at the grassroots level.

It was stated at a press conference on COVID-19 prevention and control on Oct 26.

The measures currently implemented in Ejine Banner are as follows:

Strengthen the professional training of epidemic prevention personnel

To strengthen people's knowledge of COVID-19 and self-protection, Ejine Banner has invited relevant experts from the State and the autonomous region to carry out epidemic prevention training for frontline prevention and control personnel.

Meanwhile, online safety protection training has been strengthened, with short security protection videos being sent to epidemic prevention personnel through WeChat official accounts and WeChat groups from time to time.

Additionally, Ejine Banner requires the full use of information technology, telephones, video calls, WeChat and other methods to carry out nucleic acid sampling registration, key population investigations, and on-site investigations, avoiding contact as much as possible and ensuring safety.

Increase safety of medical staff

While carrying out normalized online safety protection training, Ejine Banner has fully implemented the protection technical guidelines for medical personnel, clarified specialized agencies and specific responsible persons, and has ensured that sufficient safety supplies for key personnel in key positions such as medical diagnosis and treatment, isolation observation, nucleic acid sampling and testing are in place.

Strengthen the supply of anti-epidemic materials

Ejine Banner equips medical staff, public security police, community cadres and volunteers with necessary protective equipment such as tents, electric heaters, and disinfection supplies to ensure the protection of staff.

In terms of diet, Ejine Banner has ensured that every frontline anti-epidemic worker has hot water and hot meals every day.

Implement various safety measures

1.Strengthen work scheduling

According to the changes in the epidemic situation, Ejine Banner has arranged the duties and shifts of frontline epidemic prevention personnel to form strong epidemic prevention groups and avoid overwork.

2.Strengthen health testing and reporting

For all anti-epidemic staff members, Ejine Banner has arranged body temperature monitoring and nucleic acid testing every day to monitor their health changes at any time, detect possible infections and investigate potential risks in time.

Meanwhile, Ejine Banner is paying close attention to the mental health of anti-epidemic staff, promptly following up on related psychological counseling to ensure their physical and mental health.

3.Intensify efforts to eliminate epidemic prevention sites and important places

Ejine Banner has employed a third-party agency to eliminate all important places and key links such as isolation points and epidemic prevention points, maintain normal operations, and regulate the collection and disposal of garbage and waste in accordance with epidemic prevention and control requirements to prevent the spread of the virus.
