Ejin Horoo Banner confirmed case in isolated treatment

Ejin Horoo Banner in the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region reported one confirmed COVID-19 case, according to the Ordos Health Commission.

The 38-year-old patient, surnamed Jin, is a cart driver transporting coal in Ejin Horoo Banner.

On Oct 24, the Ordos Novel Cornovarius Pneumonia Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters received a notice that Mr. Jin had a suspiciously positive nucleic acid test result at Wuyuan County People's Hospital in Wuyuan county, Baynnuur city, where Jin held his household registration.

At 10:10 on Oct 25, Jin was confirmed as a COVID-19 patient after diagnosis by the autonomous region and municipal-level medical treatment expert team.

The patient is currently being treated in isolation at the Second Ordos People's Hospital.

After the case was confirmed, Ejin Horoo Banner immediately conducted mass nucleic acid testing for all the people in Nalintaohai town in the banner, where Jin had once stayed while transporting coal.

This round of nucleic acid testing involved 16 villages, 117 communities, one residential community, 85 resident factories and mines, two schools, cadres and employees of government agencies and institutions, and the temporary floating population.

As of 14:00 on Oct 26, a total of 35,133 nucleic acid testing samples had been collected, 18,860 nucleic acid test results were all negative, and the rest are being tested.

Meanwhile, all 35 close contacts of the confirmed case have been traced and sampled for nucleic acid testing three times. The results of two rounds of nucleic acid tests were all negative, and the last round of test results haven't been revealed yet.
