Huoyan laboratory goes into operation in Hohhot

A Huoyan, or Fire Eye, field laboratory has been built and was put into operation in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Oct 26. It will handle the processing of nucleic acid tests, according to local media reports.

The newly built lab can complete more than 300,000 nucleic acid tests within 24 hours.

According to the third press conference on COVID-19 prevention and control in Hohhot, as of 16:00 on Oct 26, there were no new confirmed cases, suspected cases or asymptomatic infections of COVID-19 in the city.

At present, Hohhot has sufficient reserves of medical, emergency and living supplies.

As of 12:00 on Oct 26, nucleic acid testing is continuing to be promoted in key areas of the city.

A total of 7,348 medical personnel were dispatched, and a total of 2.41 million nucleic acid samples were collected. Among them, 1.40 million results have been obtained, all of which were negative, and 1.02 million results are yet to be reported.
