Stranded Manzhouli tourists get help from the city

Manzhouli, the largest rail and land port on the China-Russia border -- located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- is striving to provide medical and living supply services and daily necessities for tourists stranded in the city following the outbreak of the new round of the COVID-19 pandemic on Nov 27.

Statistics from the Inner Mongolia Health Commission showed that as of 24:00 on Dec 8, Inner Mongolia had 491 confirmed COVID-19 cases, of which 451 cases were in Manzhouli.

A total of 1,813 tourists from 26 provinces and municipalities are still reportedly trapped in the city, according to a news conference held by the Manzhouli health authority on Dec 7.

In order to effectively help with the living and security problems of these people, Manzhouli has established a service security leadership group for them.

Various services such as life assistance services, medical services and psychological counseling are being offered.
