The China-Mongolia New Year Cultural Exchange Activities program began with great fanfare on Jan 25 in Hohhot – capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – and they are set to run until the end of February, according to local media reports.

The activities began as the Chinese New Year and the Tsagaan Sar – or White Moon, in the Mongolian Lunar New Year – approaches.

A total of 36 activities in six categories will be staged, such as a New Year's Eve gala, ice and snow activities in celebration of the upcoming Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics – to be held next month – and various other artistic performances.

In addition, selected films and TV dramas produced by China will be debuted on Mongolian TV channels.
