The Inner Mongolia delegation to the 14th National People's Congress held a plenary meeting in Beijing on March 6.

The meeting was opened to both domestic and foreign media outlets attending this year's national two sessions and saw 43 journalists attend.

During the meeting, the Inner Mongolia delegation presented the region's achievements in fostering a sense of community for the Chinese nation and vigorously pioneering new paths toward Chinese-style modernization.

Achievements in accelerating the establishment of a modern industrial system that reflects the advantages and characteristics of Inner Mongolia and building a green barrier along the country's northern border while safeguarding national and border security were also presented.

In 2023, Inner Mongolia's major economic indicators maintained a leading position nationwide, with a 7.3-percent increase in regional GDP, the third highest growth rate in the country; a 19.8-percent growth in fixed asset investment, the second highest in the country; and a 30.4-percent increase in total import and export volume, the third highest in the country.

Inner Mongolia also saw a 7.4-percent increase in the added value of industries above a designated size, the seventh highest in the country.

Based on the actual conditions of Inner Mongolia, the region has carefully planned the development of eight major industrial clusters and 16 key industrial chains.
