Apricot festival opens in N China's Baotou

Dayantan, a scenic area located in Tumd Right Banner, Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is set to receive an influx of tourists following the official launch of its apricot festival on April 9, according to Baotou Evening News.

The apricot blossoms, now in full bloom, cover an area of 533 hectares and provide a vibrant contrast to the surrounding green hills of the area.

In order to further boost the region's tourism industry, a series of folk tours have been launched, in addition to regular tourism routes in Dayantan. B&B stays have also been added to tour plans.

The 24-day apricot-themed tourism festival is expected to receive 300,000 tourists in total.
