Updated: 2024-03-05

Cadres from 16 hospitals in Baotou city, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, attended a training course at Fudan University's Shanghai Medical College from Feb 25 to March 1. Shanghai Medical College is known for its concentration of high-quality medical resources and rich experience in modern hospital operation and management.

The opening ceremony of the training session was attended by Yuan Zhenghong, secretary of the Party committee of Shanghai Medical College; as well as Wu Jinglei, president of the Shanghai Medical Association.

Experts from Fudan University's Shanghai Medical College and its affiliated hospitals, Zhongshan Hospital, Huashan Hospital, Eye & Ent Hospital, Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Hospital, Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital, and the Children's Hospital of Fudan University.

During the six-day training, courses such as "Hospital Internal Control Process Design and Operation Management", and "Management Practices of Smart Hospitals" were arranged.

To enhance the effectiveness of the training, a symposium was also arranged to address issues, such as multidisciplinary integration development and refining operational management measures in Baotou's public hospitals.

Through this training course, Liang Lu, director of Baotou Central Hospital, reflected on the hospital's shortcomings in humanistic care. He plans to break the university's lifetime tenure system for departmental management personnel and will set periodic assessment goals for those with tenure.

Meng Xianmei, director of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Baotou Medical College, believes that Fudan University's Shanghai Medical College, with its two comprehensive hospitals and four specialized hospitals, has become a top institution nationwide due to its strong specialized service capabilities.

Therefore, Meng plans to comprehensively strengthen her own hospital's discipline construction, and will strive to develop its gastrointestinal surgery department into an autonomous region-level discipline.

After the training, Gao Wen, director of Baotou Bohua Hospital, met with suppliers that provide information technology services to discuss establishing an integrated big data platform for business and financial information.

Through this platform, functions such as appointment registration, report inquiry, and in-clinic payments will all be completed via mobile devices, providing patients with a more convenient medical experience.
